As 2018 iPhone sales worsens, parts suppliers brace for impact
The Phone parts manufacturers
were initially expected to have a slower harvest or worse than earlier
forecasts.
First,
Apple adjusted its revenue outlook for the holiday season and announced that it
will no longer report sales of iPhones, iPads and Macs. Now, the Korean
publication ETNews reports that the supply chain is being hit by the market.
TrueDepth camera system maker LumenTem has cut
its fourth quarter revenue outlook by the equivalent of $70 million with poor
new model sales. Recent price cuts for the iPhone 8 and iPhone 7 series, which
do not have features such as Face ID, have generated increased sales.
For the
iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max using Samsung's OLED screen, it has been reported
that since the second half of this year, chaebol has maintained only 10% to 20%
of its capacity on its dedicated panel production line. This is to serve the
now-defunct iPhone X after experiencing the full capacity of the entire year.
Many
companies that rely on Apple's revenues mostly saw their stocks fall yesterday,
although diversified companies like Samsung and LG have been
able to offset the negative impact of so-called reduced orders.
