The Vivobook 14 (X420) is ASUS’ Latest Frameless Laptop

Technology giant Asus has launched a new notebook called the VivoBook 14 (X420). The new notebook is revolutionary in design, allowing the laptop to have no frame around the screen. The laptop is also very compact and lightweight, but with beautiful hardware settings.

The ASUS VivoBook 14 (X420) features a frameless four-sided NanoEdge display with a screen-to-body ratio of 87% for immersive viewing. The ultra-thin border around the display is only 5.7mm wide on all four sides. The extremely slim bezel allows the large screen to fit into a smaller chassis. The laptop is also equipped with an innovative ErgoLift hinge that tilts the keyboard to replicate the feel of the desktop keyboard for a more comfortable typing experience. The display panel has FHD resolution, including wide view technology and excellent color reproduction, enabling realistic visual effects even when viewed from extreme positions. Measuring just 322.4 x 210 x 17.7mm, this compact notebook is said to be the lightest and most compact of the VivoBook 14 series. It weighs only 1.4 kilograms.

In terms of specifications, the VivoBook 14 features the 8th generation Intel Core i7 processor with up to 512GB SSD. This is a daily laptop that is ideal for efficient multitasking, multimedia editing or casual games. In addition, dual-band 802.11ac Wi-Fi connectivity delivers speeds of up to 867 Mbps - six times faster than 802.11n - for seamless video streaming and smooth web surfing. The laptop is also equipped with Bluetooth 4.2, an optional fingerprint sensor built into the touchpad, and a full-size backlit keyboard, perfect for working in dimly lit environments. It has a sturdy, one-piece construction and a 1.3mm key stroke for easy typing. Other features include a range of ports including USB Type-C, USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A, USB 2.0, HDMI output and microSD card reader for easy compatibility with current peripherals, displays, and projectors. In addition, the laptop is equipped with a durable battery that is said to be three times more durable than a regular lithium-ion battery. The device also features fast charging technology that delivers up to 60% battery power in 49 minutes.
