2019 Smartphone Technology
We see
new smartphone features every few months. See more Qi wireless charging, no
3.5mm port phone, infrared assisted face unlocking, glass back on entry level
device, smaller teardrop shape notch. The following are some of the most
compelling new technologies that will be available next year, and will also be
the focus of mobile phone manufacturers to develop mobile phones.
Notch-free Displays
It is so
common now that more people seem to hate it more, not to understand why it
exists. Fortunately, we also see that the smartphone brand is one step ahead in
full-screen design (without any
gaps). For 2019, we expect full-screen design to be the focus of showing price
declines.
Foldable
mobile phone
Foldable smartphones have long been a
concept, showing some proof-of-concept devices at international events. Things
escalated rapidly in 2018, and Samsung and Huawei announced that their foldable
smartphones will debut in 2019. At a recent event, Samsung demonstrated the
working prototypes of collapsible smartphones and demonstrated how close they
are to consumer devices. We may see the first foldable phone next year, but you
should expect it to be a halo product with a stratospheric price tag.
Mobile
phone support 5G
5G
hardware is already ready Qualcomm has announced that they have more than 15
smartphone OEMs committed to launch 5G in 2019. Some of the vendors, including
OnePlus, Oppo and Huawei, also announced 5G handsets in 2019.
Fingerprint on the Display
As a
personal choice, we prefer capacitive fingerprint scanners on smartphones (just
because they are faster and more accurate). However, the next generation of
fingerprint scanners (embedded in smartphone displays) has become a reality. We
have seen display scanners on Vivo NEX, Vivo V11 Pro, Huawei Mate 20 Pro and
OnePlus 6T.
Three, Four & Five Rear Cameras
While
Google Pixel 3 and iPhone XR continue to break the boundaries of a single
smartphone camera, other companies
have not stopped there. Dual cameras became the norm in 2018, and we also saw
them in phones below 10k. For 2019, there have been rumors that Nokia phones
have five rear cameras, and we expect more companies to follow this trend. You
can expect all brands to develop phones with multiple cameras.
Ultra-fast charging
OnePlus
users enjoy the ultra-fast Dash Charge
feature. Many smartphones are also equipped with Qualcomm's QuickCharge 3.0. In
2018, we saw equipment surpassing and developing its own ultra-fast charging
technology. Oppo shows you how to use SuperVooc charging on Find X and R17 Pro.
Huawei Mate 20 Pro has Super Charge 2.0, OnePlus launches WarpCharge on OnePlus
6T McLaren, and ASUS ROG supports QuickCharge 4.0. These phones can charge your
phone 0 to 50% in less than 30 minutes.
The above is the new technology that may
appear on the 2019 mobile phone, and it is also
the development direction of the future. We look forward to seeing more
surprises.
