MSI GF75 17-inch Screen
MSI launched
a 17-inch gaming laptop. The new MSI GF75 Thin attempts to get rid of
competitors' products by adopting popular thin and light routes while retaining
enough FHD gaming capabilities to get its LED-lit game strips. Of course, the
thin design requires careful balancing of component selection, chassis design
and thermal considerations, so let's look at what MSI is offering here.
MSI
highlights the drop-down hinge
design of the GF72 Thin. It said it was the first 17-inch to adopt this design,
which is beneficial for ergonomics and cooling because it lifts the keyboard
and provides clearance at the back. The parts and systems manufacturer said
that the MSI GF75 Thin is only 2.2 kilograms, only 22 millimeters, breaking the
stereotype of the huge 17-inch notebook.
In addition, the thin bezel and 88% screen to body ratio help to immerse and
compact the system.
Although
MSI claims that it has "uncompromising the game," it is obviously
stupid because it chose relatively energy-efficient parts and made many design
decisions through its own recognition to keep the system running cool. The CPU
behind the GF72 Thin can be configured as a powerful Intel Core i7-8750H, 6C /
12T, with a maximum turbo of 4.1GHz and a TDP between 35 and 45W. MSI has
limited GPU options to the power-efficient
Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti Max-Q (MSI GF75 8RD) or GTX 1050 (MSI GF75 8RC) -
both with 4GB GDDR5.
Other
key components include a 17.3-inch IPS FHD screen,
1x 2.5-inch hard drive, 1x NVMe M.2 SSD (PCIe / SATA combo slot), 2 slots up to
DDR4-2666MHz RAM, red backlit keyboard,
1.9mm travel, 2 A 2W speaker, 3 batteries, lasts up to 7 hours
("Productivity and Entertainment"), measures 397 x 260 x 22-23.1mm
and weighs 2.2kg.
In terms
of cooling solutions, MSI installed a cooling system consisting of two fans and four heat pipes and their
Cooler Boost 3 technology. Designed with adequate vents; back and under.
According to notebook manufacturers, this solution is enough to allow
"CPUs and GPUs to work without restrictions." Fan profiles and other
under-the-hood adjustments can be adjusted using the included MSI Dragon
Center.
The new
17-inch screen MSI GF75 Thin gives us a refreshing enjoyment and will be a
major advancement in MSI's new model development. For more information on
