The Latest LG Gram 17-inch Computer, Only 3 Pounds
LG has
launched two new laptops, and the Gram 17 looks like an amazing one. Weighing
only 3 pounds, this is crazy for notebooks with 17-inch displays. This is the
same as the 13-inch MacBook Pro with Touch Bar.
LG Gram 17 Specifications
Usually
a 17-inch laptop weighs 6 to 6.5 pounds, so getting such a big screen in such a lightweight package is not
a trivial matter.
Does
this mean specifications? Do not. LG claims that the 15 x 10.5 x 0.7-inch Gram
17 includes the 8th generation Intel Core i7-8565U with up to 16GB of RAM and
512GB of SSD. (There is also an extra SSD slot).
The Gram
17's 72W battery lasts up to 19.5 hours,
and once we put our hands on the laptop, we will test it.
Other
highlights include a 2560 x 1600-pixel display with an aspect ratio of 16:10, a
fingerprint reader and a chassis that is MIL-STD-810G compliant, meaning it
should handle vibration, dust and extreme temperatures.
Gram 17
offers Thunderbolt 3 for connecting high-speed peripherals, precision glass
touchpads and backlit keyboards. The
headphone jack supports DTS Headset X for analog 11.1 channel sound.
The
recommended price for the LG Gram 17 is $1,699.99.
LG Gram 2 in 1
The LG
Gram combo has less detail, but it looks like a capable convertible. The system
features a 14-inch touch screen that can be used in tablet or laptop mode and is MIL-STD-810G
compliant. The panel itself uses the durable Gorilla Glass 5.
Internally,
you'll find the 8th generation Gen Core i7-8565U processor with up to 16GB of
RAM and 512GB of SSD. 12.8 x 8.3 x 0.7 inches 2 and 1 weight 2.53 lbs.
The LG
includes a Wacom AES 2.0 pen with 4,096 pressure ratings and tilt detection, as
well as a 72-watt battery that is
rated for 21 hours.
Nowadays,
the collection of electronic products is getting higher and higher, which also
indicates that notebooks will be more and more light. LG is also constantly
exploring this aspect.
