Acer Swift 7 Will be Lighter in 2019
Acer announced the launch of Acer Swift 7
at CES 2019, which promises smaller equipment than the incredible ultra-thin
notebooks of last year.

The Acer Ultimate Ultrabook for 2019 weighs
only 9.95 mm (0.39 in) and weighs only 890 g (1.96 lb), making it the "smalest
notebook in the world."
The smaller chassis allows the Acer Swift 7
to shrink the bezel this year, achieving a 92% screen-to-body ratio. The display itself is a full HD 1920 x 1080-pixel
panel with 100% sRGB color gamut.
Since the new Acer Swift 7 is made of
magnesium-lithium and magnesium-aluminum alloys, focusing on making such a thin
and light notebook is not at the
expense of durability. Acer claims that these materials are two to four times
harder than ordinary aluminum and weigh 35% lighter.
Acer Swift 7 is not without drawbacks in
2018 because it removes the click feature from the touchpad and uses Intel's
7th generation fanless processor. Acer is addressing these issues, including
the eighth-generation Intel Amber Lake fanless processor, similar to the
processor on the 2018 MacBook Air.
Acer said that the Swift 7 processor can
achieve 10 hours of battery life.
And, when paired with 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD, Acer Swift 7 will provide
"top performance for web browsing" and "productivity for presentations
and spreadsheets." Acer also claims that it can handle creative tools, but
this may be limited to some Photoshop jobs. Finally, a physical click mechanism
is integrated into the Swift 7 touchpad.
Acer Swift 7 hopes to
attract luxury users like Apple's MacBook, and will sell it in May for $1,699
in the US and April, Europe for €1,799.
The latest laptop we have seen this year
are characterized by light weight and easy to carry. At the same time, we never
lower the standard in all parts of the laptop. We will have more expectations
for the accessories of laptop in 2019.
