How to fix laptop is running slow? Solid state & hard disk combination

The computer runs slowly. I hope to add a dual hard disk to the notebook. Use the "Solid State Drive + Mechanical Hard Disk" mode to expand the storage space of the computer and make your laptop run 5 times faster and smoother.

 1. Notebook installed dual hard disk - number of interfaces
Because in general, there will be two SATAII/III interfaces in the laptop. These two interfaces are used for the hard disk and the optical drive respectively. Therefore, if you add a solid state hard disk, there is no redundant interface. So, we can't take the notebook back cover apart and add an extra hard drive. Because the optical drive is rarely used now, if you want to install a dual hard drive, we can discard the drive of the laptop and transfer the solid state drive or mechanical hard drive to it.

In addition, we also need to see if the optical drive of our notebook supports the optical drive hard drive and the optical drive bay needs to be purchased by yourself.

The 2.5-inch hard drive bays commonly used in laptops on the market have two thicknesses of hard drives:
One is a 7mm model, which is light and thin;
One is a 9mm model, and most laptop hard drives and mobile hard drives are this thickness.
You can measure it yourself before you buy it.

2. Notebook dual hard drive installation steps:
1. When upgrading, first remove the screw that fixes the CD-ROM drive on the back of the laptop, and then pull the CD-ROM drive out of the CD-ROM drive.
2. Then remove the fixing clip and the outer casing of the front of the optical drive, and attach the mechanical hard disk or the fixed hard disk to the fixed frame and the outer casing to the optical drive bay.

In general, there are a total of four optical drive buckles for notebooks. When you remove it, be careful to remove the CD-ROM panel or install it on the original hard disk tray. This installation ensures that the newly added hard disk will not damage the shape and structure of the notebook and ensure the integrity of the appearance.

3. Insert the mechanical hard disk or ssd SSD into the optical drive with the bracket and tighten the fixing screws on the back of the notebook.

It should be noted that the hard disk tray contains a data read interface of the hard disk. Therefore, as long as we complete the docking of the relevant positions of the hard disk drive and the optical drive, the computer can completely read the contents of the two hard disks completely.

4. After the hard disk is installed, we will boot the test and enter the BIOS settings of the computer directly after booting. You can see the contents of both hard drives and be able to change different boot priorities at the same time.

Through the above operations, we can successfully complete the laptop dual hard drive modification, you can install an SSD and a mechanical hard drive. It will greatly improve the performance of the notebook, not only increase the storage space but also improve the operating efficiency and speed of the computer.
